Installing Zenprise MDM Suite-The Installation


The installation procedure for Zenprise Device Manager is as follows:












Installing PostgreSQL

The Device Manager Server comes included with the PostgreSQL server installation by default. If a separate Microsoft SQL Server instance, local or remote, is being used please skip to "Choosing the License File."






                                        





The Account Domain and password should be noted down for further use. You'll get 2 prompts stating

1. The Account has not yet been created- Click on Yes to get it created
2. Your password is weak- Click on No if you don't want a random password



Do records the password noted under SUPERUSER as it will be needed further to complete installation


















This completes the installation of the PostgreSQL Database.

As discussed earlier you need to mention the SUPERUSER password here









So the zdm database has been successfully created now.

Port Optimization:

In the steps below you can define your custom ports for different protocols being used.







In this step you need to install the APNS certificate you received from the APPLE portal Refer: http://mail.teamxchange.in/2012/03/apns-certificate.html


The password required is the one you used while registering for the APNS certificate


Certificate Authorization:

In the steps below you need to enter passwords for the certificates and record them for further use







WebConsole Setup:

In this step choose a suitable username and password that you want to use while logging on to the web console to manage the devices and check the username.

Click Next if the username does not exist, the required username will be automatically created.






This finishes our installation of Zenprise Device Manage. In the next few posts we'll deal with the console and its various effective uses.
