An Introduction to SAP Afaria Part 1

Recently, SAP's MDM solution Afaria was announced in the Leaders quadrant by Gartner in Mobile Device Management Magic Quadrant 2013 report. In this post, we will go ahead and get introduced to the Cloud based offering by SAP.

SAP spent nearly 5.8 billion to acquire Sybase in 2010 and since then they lead the MDM market with this exceptional solution. This seems to have become a trend as we have recently also seen Citrix acquiring the almighty Zenprise. Getting back to Afaria, its the Cloud based version 7 thats recently flooding the market.

The on-premise Afaria architecture looks somewhat like as shown below:

But we'll concentrate on the CLoud Solutions in this post. After registering for the application you can logon to SAP console with your credentials and get started.

The logon dashboard seems very user friendly with crystal clear information being reflected. Also, SAP has done a great job when it comes on to the product tutorial section. They have both videos and a vast knowledge-base for a great insight onto the product.
